QUEEN'S PARK – Official Opposition NDP Health critic France Gélinas (Nickel Belt) and MPP Bhutila Karpoche (Parkdale—High Park) are pointing out that even with the Ford Conservatives’ announcement of “increased” provincial funding for public health today, the government is still investing less in public health than before the pandemic. The delayed action comes after municipalities faced overwhelming backlogs during the pandemic, prompting an outcry from Public Health Units(PHUs).

The week was established through Andrew’s Bill 61, which passed unanimously on December 8, 2020, to formally recognize February 1-7 of each year as a time to raise awareness and take action to support people and families with eating disorders in the province.
