Workers' Rights Workshop

This event has already taken place.

Are you an essential worker? Do you have questions about the current labour laws and your rights? Join us on Wednesday, February 10 at 4:00pm to hear from workers' rights advocates Mary Gellatly (Parkdale Community Legal Services) and Jared One (Workers Action Centre) to answer your questions and provide up-to-date information to keep you safe and protected at work.

Mary Gellatly is a community legal worker at Parkdale Community Legal Services. She organizes with low wage and precarious workers to improve wages and working conditions. Mary organizes for workers' rights and migrant rights at PCLS.

Jared Ong is a community organizer and caseworker with the Workers Action Centre. Working on the front-lines empowering workers to stand up for their rights at work, he sees every day how our labour laws are insufficient to protect workers' rights. He believes that band-aid solutions aren't enough to address systemic inequality and therefore works to build collective-power one community at a time.
