TORONTO — The Ontario NDP MPP for Parkdale—High Park, Bhutila Karpoche, responded to Conservative Health Minister Christine Elliott’s campaign announcement of an investment to expand St. Joseph’s Health Centre with the following statement:
West Toronto families need overdue investment in St Joe’s, not just campaign promise
“People in my community of Parkdale—High Park have needed expanded and improved local care at St. Joseph’s for years. Announcements that come just weeks before an election do not inspire confidence.
Doug Ford likes to make bold promises before an election that he does not intend to keep. People in West Toronto need actual health care investments, not empty election promises.
Andrea Horwath and the Ontario NDP will make the investments needed to strengthen and staff up our hospital and health care system – we’ll fix what years of Liberal and Conservative governments have broken with their cuts and funding freezes.”
