Come out and show your support for the Second Reading debate of Bhutila’s Rent Control for All Tenants Act (Bill 48).
No one can build a life without knowing how high the single biggest cost will be. The Ford government’s exemption of rental units built after 2018 from the province’s rent control guidelines has led to unpredictable, sky-high rent increases that are making it harder for Ontario tenants to cover the basics. Many are struggling to pay rent and put food on the table.
The Rent Control for All Tenants Act proposes one simple solution: restore rent control for all units, regardless of when they were constructed so that all Ontario tenants can have the stable and affordable housing they deserve.
