Ontario needs a real rent freeze. That means banning AGIs until at least 12 months after COVID-19 end.
Doug Ford promised to freeze rent increases during the pandemic, but he didn't stop Above the Guideline Increases.
Here are some facts:
- Above the Guideline Rent Increases are routinely abused by landlords.
- Above the Guideline Rent Increases in Toronto alone have increased by 250% in the last six years.
For many tenants, this means that this isn't a rent freeze at all.
